Last Night At The Engine Shed.

Yesterday was the first time in a long time, since I hadn't written a blog post.   Well it seems to me it has been a long time since I started blogging every day.   It was in fact the 7th of February I started blogging every day, so not that long ago.   I was doing so well.   Anyhoo, the reason being was I was out last night supporting a charity event at The Engine Shed in Lincoln, to support Lincoln City FC as they had a managers 'battle' to raise money for St. Barnabas Hospice in Lincoln, LCFC Sport and Education Trust (SET) and Lincs2Nepal.

The Engine Shed holds a lot of events, and gigs and we have bands perform there in the past such as Kings of Leon, Manic Street Preachers, Kasabian, and comedians such as Sarah Millican, Jason Manford and Russell Howard to name but a few.   It is really very popular in the city.   I remember the very first gig I saw there, and that was The Pigeon Detectives.   They were brilliant.   At the time, I had heard of them, but I hadn't heard any of their music, but they were amazing.

Anyway, so last night the manager of Lincoln City FC, Danny Cowley and his brother Nicky entered a battle of the wits to raise money for charity.   It was all set up like 'A Question Of Sport' with a referee, and my dad, Alan, who is the football clubs Supporters Liason Officer, doing the microphone introductions and presenting the whole thing to a crowd of a few hundred, not sure exactly how many.   And it was being recorded as a radio show as well for a later date.   The audience was divided into two halves (one team for Danny and one team for Nicky) I was on Nicky's team, and we had the opportunity to join in too as the lads were asked questions all about Lincoln City football club and their time there as a management team.   I really enjoyed the evening.  They even had audience participation.   It was a lot of fun.   Dad did well too, and my mum enjoyed it as well.   Our team lost...but hey ho, haha!   It was all for charity.  We don't know the exact figure that was raised yet, but we should find out in a couple of days.   It was a really great night and it was a lot of fun.

So I was a bit wrecked when I got home last night, and that was after my mum, dad and I stopped for a McDonalds, which I hadn't had in ages.   This was why I didn't do a post last night, so I do apologize for that.   I know I was doing so well with my daily blogging, but I just needed my bed when I got home.  I was really grateful to have a day off today too.   That definitely worked out well for me.   Been a bit tired today.   It's my age.   Plus, I generally don't drink all that much now either, not as much as I used to anyway, which of course isn't a bad thing.   I only had four VK apples, not the strongest thing in the world, but....well lets just say I slept well.

Today I have been as lazy as hell, apart from doing some ironing this afternoon.   Watched a bit of TV, been on the net, watched Q.I, but now decided to get into bed to do this post, whilst having a cup of tea and making my way through a packet of Ginger Nut biscuits.  Which are very nice.

Thanks for reading.

Update: Just heard there was over £7000 raised so far for the three charities, which is amazing I am so pleased.   It was a great evening.
